Good point. I normally reference them as DaimlerChrysler.

At any rate, it would be pretty satisfying either way...

I'd pay good money to throw one of those bricks through the biggest window I could find at Chrysler for what they've done with the Jeep brand...

Hey, Renegade,

I think your anger is misguided. I don't think it is so much Chrysler as it was DCX. I think they raped the whole Chrysler Division.

There are some positive rumors abounding about more fuel efficent cars. This is happening even though the sale of Chrysler is not, yet, final.

Over on http://jeeppatriot.com, there is a nice discussion going on about new CRD's/Hybrids Chrysler wants to bring to market.

A good tribute to the history of Jeep would be to either create a museum at the site of the stacks or use the bricks from the stacks to build a new building (either at that site or somewhere else) to house a museum of Jeep history.

What a tribute to Jeep heritage if they made a permanent Camp Jeep park on the site. Of course, with all the enviornmental concerns and anti-recreationists in the world, it might not even be possible.

A.)* Chrysler Group to announce future of the smokestacks on the Parkway site

B.)* Final chance to capture the three smokestacks together against Toledo skyline

Ok, either A.) is going to be a very anticlimatic announcement of "we are going to implode them"

Or they are going to do something like sell the bricks from the original smokestacks to Jeep fans and give the money to charity?

If they start selling bricks to Jeep fans, let me know where to send the check! That would be cool!

Two of the smokestacks are coming down, with the one that has Overland written on to be kept standing as a historical landmark.

The bricks from the two smokestacks will be sold off for $39.95 each. This may seem a bit pricey but 100% of proceeds will be going to Toledo charities.

The fact that they didn't put a museum on this site is a slap in the face to anything Jeep. One last kick in the crotch from Daimler before Cerebrus closes the deal...
