Grand CherokeeSolid Review for Grand Cherokee SRT

Apparently they let the editor-in-chief of Edmunds.com drive test vehicles every now-and-then - and he's got some kind words for the performance-minded Grand Cherokee SRT:

The 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 behaves like a performance variant should, meaning it's simply better than the standard Grand Cherokee in every way, with no annoying side effects. Actually, if you're a hardcore off-roader perhaps it does have the annoying side effect of being less off-road capable. But c'mon, how many Grand Cherokee buyers are really going off road?

Re: Solid Review for Grand Cherokee SRT
I don't know how th MY2008 WJ SRT drives, but I got to open one up @ Camp Jeep in 2006 on Elkhart Lake's Road America track. I had driven my wifes 99WJ a little hard, but nothing like keeping up with the pace car @ Road America. I'd never felt 'safe' in a Jeep @ 90 mph, but taking the curves @ 85 and the rear end not breaking loos was jsut awesome. I watched the speedo hit 100+ and it didn't seem to phase the Jeep. From the start at a dead stop, I've never been pulled back into a seat like I did with this Jeep.

I'm sure that the 08's have more refinements...and If I had a lot of money to blow on a "road only" vehicle...I'd probably consider one.

I know you can't tow anything, and I know you can't off-road this Jeep but, I want one.
