Grand Cherokee2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0L CRD (Diesel) Review
Posted by MarkH on 2008/3/9 10:31:18 (5030) reads

MotorTrend recently reviewed the 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee CRD and was "underwhelmed":

I think it's just suboptimally integrated in this Jeep. Rock-crawlers demand easy throttle tip in so as not to inadvertently leap over boulders and obstacles, and that long accelerator travel (and a high-effort return spring on the accelerator) heighten the impression of mass. I also find it strange that the stump-pulling diesel gets drastically shorter transmission gearing than its peakier gasoline V-8 stablemate. Usually it's the other way around. Taller gearing would make it seem a lot less "shifty" at low speeds, and would probably improve fuel economy.

Interesting read. JPFreek Adventure Magazine also reviewed the 2008 3.0L CRD Grand Cherokee and I think you'll be interested to see what we felt about the vehicle, especially the engine.

The review will be in our new issue to be released on 3/17/08. Be sure to check out the JPFreek website at www.jpfreek.com once it's released.
