Chrysler CEO to Publicly Announce Plan on November 4

For those of us wondering how, exactly, will Chrysler's new Italian overlords lead the company back to the promised land will only have to wait a few more weeks to find out.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that CEO Sergio Marchionne will "outline product plans and the new image focus for the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands" as part of his five-year survival plan.

Chrysler executives have already said that the brands will be marketed differently under Marchionne's leadership. Chrysler will be focused on the luxury market while Dodge will exhibit daring designs and Jeep will return to its American roots.

BUT for the love of Jeep, give us a JK based truck--JT/Gladiator/Scrambler!!!!!!!!!!!! There's the potential small, fuel efficient (esp. if built with a diesel) pickup that will sell like hotcakes...Not the pathetic Mahindra! Build the JT in 2 and 4WD.... also build a 4 door but still small!!

They have done it once before because there is a world out side of the usa

The rub might come if you have a Fiat dealer next door to a Jeep dealer and Fiat wants to have their dealers sell both marques. I think it's a hint to say that the Fiat Panda will not get a Jeep grill and be sold as a Jeep. Like MyHot Wheels, I would love to see Jeep return to its true roots and build a Jeep that is narrow enough to fit on Jeep trails (what a concept!). And nothing says it better than a flat fender. But a little longer, the abilty to cruise at highway speeds without going deaf and your butt go numb, more aerodynamic, a powerful Fiat diesel would be very nice, and no frills wash the inside with a hose mentality. If it got 40 MPG they would fly off the shelf.
