The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the Jeep Liberty might soon be replaced by a Alfa Romeo crossover vehicle:
A Chrysler plant will produce a crossover for Alfa Romeo, possibly on the same Fiat-based platform as the replacement for the current Jeep Liberty SUV.
Much of the article sounds like speculation...

If it's based on the Massif, that's Okay...We love our Liberty, and I would be glad to see the line continue>......The Massif is a pretty tough truck in it's own right, and even has a third row variant, which is why we need not mourn the death of the Commander. With Liberty/Nitro production to cease after 2012, around the time the 3.7L engine is supposed to be replaced, A Jeep bersion of the Massif would be a nice replacement...Just Inject some Jeep Engineering DNA and keep the Sky-Slider top and we'll keep buying them.
