Allpar.com recently published a summary of Chrysler's 5-year plan. It included a number of interesting facts about the future of the Jeep brand.
In 2013 Patriot, Compass, and Liberty will be replaced by vehicles “developed from Fiat platforms” which we are promised will still have the Jeep DNA — small SUV, C-size SUV, Liberty replacement.
The overall report is quite thorough - anyone with a passing interest in the future of Chrysler will get something out it. Kudos to Allpar!

Very interesting. I was saddened by the Allpar staff comment that they read this to mean that future jeeps, except Wrangler, would not need to be off-pavement capable. This is why people buy them. Most won't, but knowing they could in a disaster, ski trip or major weather event is comforting.
I also was unhappy to see the B segment Jeep (Panda platform) pushed out to 2013. Some of hoped this might be an updated flat fender or Willys II concept with a nice little Fiat turbo diesel. If it was trail capable, could fit a tall guy, and got super MPG, I'd get one. It would sure beat being seen in a Prius. ![]() |
