CommanderCommanders to be built in Europe

Looks like Jeep has high hopes for the Commander. According to the Car Connection, Jeep will be building the Commander at the Austria plant. Sort of makes sense, since the Grand Cherokee is also built at that plant for European export.

On the subject of the Commander, I stopped by Airpark Chrysler Jeep (Scottsdale, AZ) yesterday. They had received a couple of Commanders and I took a look at a nearly fully loaded (no rear-seat video) Limited 4x4 with the 5.7L. I love the look of the vehicle. The build quality is good, the seating is very comfortable for a 6ft male, like myself. The third row seating is tight on legroom but honestly won't be used to carry adults very often.

I also would love to see an Overland-type version with a diesel option, rock rails, air suspension, and HID/LED lighting.
