This is good news, considering MSN Money has an article about how the SUV is dead... THAT made me laugh. Jeep has had over a year and a half of continuous growth.

I am not sure how the XK numbers compare to last year's WK numbers. The XK will have it's first full month of sales this month. I don't think it will reach the sales of the WK, but I expect in the first year that it will top the 70,000 unit estimate (that DCX initially predicted).

I think the XK, a new (and very exciting) Wrangler lineup next year, a refreshed WK and an all-new Liberty in the next two years... in addition to the possibility of two entry-level vehicles will keep Jeep sales climbing.

Let's hope the higher sales will result in further off-road enhancements to the Wrangler, XK, WK, and Liberty and the addition of vehicles like the Gladiator.

This is good news - considering sales are down for GM and Ford...

The Commander posted sales of about 1500... does anyone know how that compares to the initial launch of the WK?

On a different note - I was reading the review of the H3. I was slightly annoyed when they wrote in their description - "with the signature front grille... ...serving as key identifiers". The 7-slot grille a "signiture"?? I dont think so.

However, I was ammused when they described what it sounded like going over rocks - "all we could do was wait and listen to the granite-versus-metal torture going on around the bend. It was like sitting in a dentist's waiting room, hearing someone getting a cavity drilled." .... and yet they still gave it a positive review.... I laughed.
