SuperBowl XLVI had its share of great moments, but this 2-minute Chrysler commercial narrated by the greatly-in-need-of-a-lozenge Clint Eastwood generated a good deal of buzz. From Chrysler's media site:
Sometimes a secret kept is so much more effective than when it all leaks out. Oh sure, there were stories about who the talent would be, but the real story was the message, and that held until the spot aired just before the second half kickoff. Whether you've already seen the spot that aired during the 2012 NFL Championship game, or this is your first time, we think the combination of the message of hope, optimism and can-do spirit, and the powerful delivery by a unique talent, is just what the country needed. Afterall, how many times has a team come back in the second half?

The August/September 2011 issue of JPFreek online magazine is out and, as usual, is jam-packed with plenty of great content for anyone with even a passing interest in the Jeep brand or outdoor adventure.
I haven't managed to get through the entire 46-page issue yet, but I did check out the article and slideshow about the "Beartooth All American Road" in Montana (why have I never heard of this road until now?)
As usual, there's gear reviews, photos from recent Jeep-related events, and plenty of quality content.

I just noticed a series of videos on The Jeep Channel on YouTube designed for new owners. The videos range in topics from the key fob to four-wheel drive (as seen below). There are currently a total of 21 videos available for the 2011 Jeep Liberty and a similar number for the 2011 Patriot, and 2011 Wrangler (I wasn't able to locate any 2011 Grand Cherokee how-to's).
The videos are organized by playlist - this url gets you to a list of all playlists.

As reported by The Detroit Free Press, despite the country's economic state, things are looking up for Chrysler as they announced 1,100 new jobs at their Toledo Assembly:
The Auburn Hills automaker is planning to invest about $365 million at its Jeep Liberty and Dodge Nitro SUV plant, city documents show. Experts say the investment is for the next-generation Liberty based on a Fiat platform. However, the plans depend on the approval of tax incentives by Toledo and two school districts.
"This project is ... going to put many of the parents of our students to work," said Bob Vasquez, board president for Toledo Public Schools, who will vote on the tax proposal Tuesday.
The new jobs would bring the total of future manufacturing jobs announced this year by General Motors, Ford and Chrysler to more than 11,100.

As discussed on JeepNewsNow Podcast Episode 4 and as reported by Cranberry.Patch.com, the Bantam Jeep Festival in Butler, PA set a world record for the biggest Jeep parade in history. 35,000 people saw over 1,400 Jeep vehicles participate in Friday's parade:
It was the Jeep Parade, the kick-off event for the Bantam Heritage Jeep Festival going on all weekend. Butler's mayor estimated there were 35,000 people at Friday's event.
The festival honors the 70th anniversary of Bantam Jeep, which was created in Butler.
Famous for its role in World War II, the little car has become a favorite with today's drivers. The brand Jeep also has evolved into a whole line of cars that were evident in the parade Friday.
The festival was spearheaded by Jack Cohen, executive director of the Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau. The bureau organized and was the initial sponsor of the event.
On Friday evening, more than 1,400 Jeeps of all makes and models from across the country rode from Butler Community College on Route 8 to the heart of downtown Butler.
Congrats to everyone involved!
