
3 Jeep Models to be Axed by 2012?

| The Wall Street Journal had a cover story today about various Fiat models replacing Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep vehicles.
The article predicts that the Compass, Patriot, and Commander will all be discontinued by the year 2012 while the all-new 2010 Grand Cherokee is being counted on for big profits:For the next two years, Chrysler will have to rely mostly on its current models. It is banking on two revamped vehicles due out next year, a refreshed Jeep Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300 sedan, as well as boosting marketing spending on Jeep.

Chrysler plans to introduce a new midsize sedan and compact in 2012 as well as a compact Jeep a year or two later. All three will be based on Fiat underpinnings.
