WWII Jeep Love Letter

If you're a recurring visitor to this site, then you probably already know about the role that Jeep played in World War II. Regardless, it's always great to see a refreshed interest in it. Thanks to this article from MilitaryTimes.com, for reminding us of one of the reason we love the brand so much:
The appeal was immediate and obvious: a multiuse, lightweight (less than 2,300 pounds), four-wheel-drive vehicle powered by a 60-horsepower engine. The jeep could ferry troops, deliver mail and messages, and with simple modifications, ould even be converted into a mobile fast-gun platform. The best part: It did all that in the snow, sand, mud, muck and just about anything else the European or Pacific battlefields dumped in its way.

Thanks to Mark for the heads-up on the article!
