Canadian Wrangler Unlimited Pricing Released

Are you Canadian? Like the new long-wheel-base Wrangler Unlimited? Then you can have one for less than 30K (Canadian). Here's a snippet from the auto123.com article:

DaimlerChrysler Canada recently announced pricing for its all-new 2004.5 Jeep TJ Unlimited. The new model, a stretched version of the venerable TJ, will be released with a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $29,195.

"For those who always wanted to drive the icon of off-road vehicles but wanted more space, the legendary Jeep TJ Unlimited has taken the limit out of interior space," commented Ron Smith, Vice-President of Marketing, DaimlerChrysler Canada. "The extension of the TJ was not limited to just stretching the wheelbase. The rear seat has been repositioned, the trunk has been enlarged, and the new Sunrider soft top operates like a huge sunroof. It all adds up to more versatility, capability and comfort."

Toledo Jeep Assembly Recalling 85 Employees

WTOL-TV recently posted the "State of the City" address by the Mayor of Toledo, Ohio, Jack Ford.

In the address, we learned something we haven't heard yet - that DaimlerChrysler will be recalling 85 employees that were previously laid off from the Jeep assembly plant. Here's a snippet of the address:

In December, we received the great news that Jeep will invest $2 billion  in their new facility and in Toledo's economy.  This will result in the full recall of 85 Jeep employees. Let's thank the UAW and DaimlerChrysler for their faith in our community.

Good news indeed. You can check out the full address here.
